Marissa Sumathipala

Hello Leverett! I'm currently a PhD student at Harvard Medical School in Neuroscience, where I study the function of serotonin neurons in the Dymecki Lab. I'm really excited to be back in the Leverett community with my partner, Chris Cantwell, and our dog Benny. Chris and I met when we were both students in Leverett House. After I graduated from Harvard in 2022 with a concentration in neuroscience, I did a masters in neuroscience at University of Cambridge through the Churchill Scholarship, before starting my PhD at Harvard. When I'm not in the lab or writing code, I love baking, cooking, taking Benny on long walks along the Charles, and figure skating!
