Emily Harrison
Assistant Professor, Wellesley College
Emily Harrison is in a long-term relationship with Leverett House, having been with Leverett in some form throughout her career in public health and communication. Currently on the faculty at Wellesley College and a tutor at Harvard Medical School, she has also held a faculty appointment at the Harvard Chan School of Public Health and a senior editorial role at Scientific American. Her work explores problems of measurement, public health administration, and development, with established lines of research on the topics of concussion, vaccines, and global health metrics. She was a Leverite while earning a BA in Organismic and Evolutionary Biology and an undefined “art” certification on the Lampoon, an SM in Global Health and Population (political economy), and a PhD in the History of Science. Now living out in the Metrowest suburbs with her husband and two young children (also Leverites!), she has become enmeshed in town government as a municipal Conservation Commissioner and does what she can to be engaged in her communities. |
