Carina Shiau

My name is Carina Shiau, and I am a first-year medical student at HMS in the Pathways program. I was born in Taiwan and raised in Houston, Texas. I studied biology at Cornell and graduated in 2021. During college, I was involved in bioengineering and computational biology research projects, and I worked as a general chemistry teaching assistant. Before starting medical school, I spent two years working as a computational biologist at a pancreatic cancer research group at the Broad Institute and MGH. Outside of class, I enjoy drawing, knitting/crocheting, running, and exploring cafes around Boston. Feel free to reach out to me about any questions you may have!
